The experience

What it's like

A 4x4 opens up parts of the desert you can't reach on a camel. We circle the Erg Chebbi dunes, stop for tea with a nomad family in their tent and visit a fossil site in the black stony desert.

In the village of Khamlia, you'll hear Gnawa music from the families who brought it across the Sahara generations ago. We finish at a lake or dune viewpoint for the late-afternoon light.
