The experience

What it's like

The Spanish Mosque sits on a hill just outside the medina. The walk up takes about half an hour through olive trees, and the view from the top takes in the whole town and the mountains behind it.

We time it for sunset, when the blue walls turn gold and the call to prayer rises from the valley. Bring a camera.
